1. Basic principles of water-based carbon black dispersants
Carbon black, as a commonly used pigment and filler, is widely used in coatings, inks, rubber, plastics and other industries due to its good tinting power and hiding power. However, the surface energy of carbon black particles is high and they are easy to agglomerate, which makes it difficult to disperse in aqueous media. In order to solve this problem, people have developed water-based carbon black dispersants. The main function of water-based carbon black dispersants is to interact with carbon black particles and water molecules through the hydrophilic groups and hydrophobic groups in its molecules, respectively, thereby reducing the surface energy of carbon black particles, preventing agglomeration between particles, and improving the dispersion stability of carbon black in aqueous media. At the same time, the dispersant can also form a protective film on the surface of carbon black particles to prevent the particles from further agglomerating.
  2. Application fields of water-based carbon black dispersants
    • 1、Water-based coatings: Water-based carbon black dispersants can be used in the preparation of water-based coatings to improve the tinting power and hiding power of coatings, while improving the leveling and drying properties of coatings.
    • 2、Water-based ink: Adding water-based carbon black dispersant to water-based ink can improve the printing performance and drying speed of the ink, making the printed color more vivid and full.
    • 3、Rubber and plastic: Adding water-based carbon black dispersant during the processing of rubber and plastic can improve the dispersion of carbon black in the matrix, thereby improving the performance and appearance of the product.
